This Summer, join thousands of people in tackling the UK’s biggest open water swim event.

The annual Arla Great North Swim has been running exhilarating, challenging and, safe events at Windermere for over fourteen years.

Theres something for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or a beginner, a range of distances means everyone can take part.

Arla is hosting two events in June, The Great North Swim and the SwimRun

Whether you’re looking to get fit, improve your time, try something new or raise money for charity, it’s a perfect opportunity to dive into nature.

The Arla Great North Swim will be back between June 7 and 9, with six open water distances to choose from.

The 250m is suitable for beginners and open to everyone over the age of eight. A half mile, equivalent to 32 lengths of a 25m pool is open to age 12 plus.

The mile, which is equal to 64 lengths of a 25m pool, the two mile swim, which is the equivalent of 125 lengths of a 25m pool, and the 5k, which compares to 200 lengths of a 25m pool are only available to over 16s.

The longest distance is 10k, for which you need to be able to swim unaided for 4.5 hours and be at least 18 years old.

The Arla Great North SwimRun will be back on Saturday June 8, with three courses to choose from.

Teams of two will embark on an off-road, open water island-hopping adventure across the landscape.

Based on teamwork, passion, and nature the SwimRun offers Short, Middle and Endurance distances to suit a range of abilities.

The Short distance is around 7.8 miles and open to everyone age 16 plus, the Middle option covers 14.8 miles and is available to anyone over the age of 17, while the Endurance course stretches 24.1 miles and is open to over 18s.
